Self-Care

Self-care refers to activities and practices individuals engage in to take care of their physical, mental, and emotional health. At its core, it is prioritizing one's well-being and taking steps to maintain or improve it. The goal of self-care is to help individuals feel their best and be able to handle the demands of daily life.

We each have our own way of achieving this goal and the activities and practices we use to feel our best, so we can show up in the world as our best selves. While self-care can be getting a facial, massage, binge-watching a favorite show, working out, or soaking in the bath, it’s also the inner work we do to help maintain our peace, self-regulation, and awareness.

Through not only my own journey but working with women through my beauty business,  I've seen firsthand that dysregulation can manifest as an urge to “fix” the outside. But the truth is, there is nothing to fix, and through mindfulness and meditation practice, we are constantly reminded of that, and the outside beauty treatments shift from being the thing you need to do to feel better to just the cherry on top.

Mediation and Mindfulness doesn’t change who you are, and it’s not becoming something different. It’s not a becoming; it’s a returning to your essence, your true nature, and identifying your oneness with all beings. Once you begin this practice, you may begin to realize you were using these other things, such as beauty treatments, material items, being perpetually “busy”, substances, etc., to numb or ignore the thing that is actually putting you into a state of dysregulation.

When your self-care practice shifts to a mindfulness practice, you return to who you are, and everything becomes more enjoyable, and the things you used to do as self-care become more enjoyable as well.

Meditation

There are many different types of mediation, and finding what works best for you will make the experience of cultivating your practice more fulfilling and beneficial. Each practice uses different techniques that can be used together or individually to find your personal practice to achieve your desired outcome.

Mediation doesn’t change the way you are; it changes the way you are with things, such as how you react to things and situations. It allows you to handle everything better.

When you meditate, you come home to who you truly are in your purest state.

Mindfulness

Practicing mindfulness is focusing your awareness on the present moment while also acknowledging and accepting your feelings, thoughts, and body sensations in a calm, balanced, and comfortable way so that you can successfully self-regulate as you move through life.

When you practice mindfulness and make it a way of life, it brings about heightened self-awareness. It helps you to better understand your thoughts, emotions, your spiritual nature, and the connection to your body and what it is experiencing.

Sound Healing

Sound healing is like an internal massage, vibrating the tissues inside your body.

Sound therapy is a sensory therapy using vibration, the principle of resonance, and entrainment.

Everything on earth has its own vibration and innate resonant frequency. Sound therapy works with frequencies to break up stuck energies and blockages in the body and send energy via these vibrations to feed the energy in your body, help restore health and balance, and make you feel better.

Reiki

Reiki is a form of energy healing. It is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing through using the higher energy of a divine higher life force. Reiki is a very simple yet powerful technique, as its name suggests Rei-Spiritual Wisdom and Ki – Life Energy.

Regular Reiki treatments will provide less stress and more compassion and can help you become aware of your spiritual path. Reiki is not a religion or affiliated with any religion. The life force energy is the source of life itself. Reiki energy heals the whole person.
