What Is a Beauty Educator?

You may be wondering what a Beauty Educator is. Well, if you met me at a cocktail party this is what I would say…

There are so many beauty products and treatments available today, it can feel overwhelming. How do you know where to invest and what will actually work?

I try anything and everything beauty-related so you don’t have to waste your time or money! The Original HMF provides tips, tricks, and honest reviews to help women make the best decisions.

Think of me as your beauty bestie! The friend who you ask what they have been doing with their skincare, makeup, hair, or nails! I’m the friend that isn’t afraid to try all the newest beauty treatment, products, and even medical procedures and I am always ready to share all my secrets!

You may wonder, how does one become a Beauty Educator?

Well, the educator part has always come naturally since I used to be a teacher. Teaching others about things I love has always been a part of who I am, only now instead of teaching elementary-age kids about reading and writing I get to teach all my fellow High Maintenance Females about all the beauty things I love, and all the beauty things I wouldn’t try again! Sounds great right!

The beauty part has been the culmination of many years in many parts of the beauty industry. It started with my first job working in a nail and tanning salon and grew from there.

I’ve always been a researcher and just plain curious when it came to my hair, skin, nails, and makeup. I always just listened and asked questions because I was genuinely interested and wanted to learn. I’m sure that you wouldn’t be surprised to hear that one day many moons ago, I just got sick of the way my blonde hair was looking, and because of all the listening and asking questions I knew that I’d have to fill my hair and then dye it a darker color, and so I just did it. Thank goodness it all worked out and my hair came out beautifully, but many people are shocked that 1) I knew to do this and 2) how well I executed it, even coming to the rescue when a friend got a jacked up bleach job and I ran to her house and fixed it in a couple of hours before she had to head into work.

Then came Makeup Artistry school…

Which started as something fun to do and a way to perfect my personal make-up skills. I even worked two events and quickly remember, I’m a total germaphobe and touching stranger’s faces was not for me! I fell in love with a 3D fiber mascara only to be sucked into an MLM business. Let’s just say that one was short-lived!

And did I mention this isn’t my first foray into blogging?

I had a new mommy beauty blog after I had my first child because it was hard to figure out who I was as a person once I became a mom. I didn’t want to lose myself and was so afraid of being the mom who didn’t shower for days (though for me there was no chance of that), with the sweatpants, dark circles under their eyes, and ratty unkempt hair, that I may have gone a little overboard. So I decided to share my journey and the little things I did for myself to not only feel like my “old” self but to feel comfortable in my skin. I’ve even added them to this website because we moms have to stick together!

Then came HMF Hair Extensions and Beauty…

What started off as adding some hair extensions for my 10-year Anniversary vow renewal quickly turned into a full-blown researching obsession and when I became disappointed with the hair extension options on the market, I decided to design my own line! I didn’t want other women to waste their money on less than top-quality hair extensions at a top dollar price!

Then came the eyelash extension aftercare kits, eyelash enhancing serum, lip color collections, video conference-ready makeup kits, and other beauty products.

Before I even realized it I had a full-on beauty brand and company. But there were two very important things I was missing, the desire to sell and the time. My kids are still young and I want to be there for everything and suddenly the HMF Beauty Business was taking up too much time, and I was feeling like a pushy salesperson. I didn’t care for either of those things.

But I loved writing all the information on the products, and I loved teaching others about them, and then it hit me! I just want to share the beauty love! So that’s what I do and that’s what a beauty educator is!

It’s just me, sharing the love and sometimes lack of love for all things High Maintenance Female, and to me, that’s all the extras- the beautiful hair, the glowing skin, the expertly applied makeup, and perfectly manicured nails. The things you do because you want to, not because you have to!

The most important thing about being a Beauty Educator though is meeting and connecting with all of you.  I love teaching you and answering your questions, helping you to make informed decisions about what you invest in. I’m here for you and your beauty needs.

I hope you’ll drop by often and if you like something tell me, if you have questions, email me, if you’re super excited about a new beauty anything DM me!
